Issues

Steven pledges to examine all issues that come before him and analyze how they will affect Ward 1 and the township. His primary goals will be to:

Promote open and accessible government.
Keep residents informed through web site, e-mail and town meetings.
Improve zoning to preserve open spaces and attract quality investment.
- Develop methods within the zoning ordinance to encourage the incorporation of open/green space within new development and redevelopment projects.
- Develop opportunity/market-driven based zoning which will allow property owners to attract and accommodate a larger variety of businesses types. Along with this zoning enhancement the property owners and developers will allow the township greater influence on such items as architectural details, signage, landscaping, buffers, parking and open space.
Promote the development of destination places within Abington Township in established commercial areas, such as movie theater, family entertainment places, recreation centers, performing arts center.
Encourage responsible revitalization with minimal impact to our residential neighborhoods.
Enhance the relationship between the school board and the commissioners to encourage better communication and cooperation.
Continue to support our police and volunteer fire departments to keep our neighborhoods safe and secure.
Develop strategies that deliver first-class services without raising taxes.
